Cutimed Gel
Necrosis or fibrin coatings are frequently occurring barriers in the healing process of chronic wounds. In addition to mechanical or surgical debridement, wound coatings can also be removed autolytically, i.e. by supporting the self-cleansing process. The advantage lies in the tissue-conserving nature of this procedure. Cutimed Gel is a transparent, amorphous hydrogel for the treatment of necrotic and fibrinous coatings of chronic wounds. The gel continuously releases moisture into the wound, resulting in effective yet tissue-sparing debridement. The high gel stability and viscosity allow good application and safe retention of the gel in the wound. Cutimed Gel can be rinsed out of the wound bed with physiological saline or Ringer's solution. Cutimed Gel consists of carbomer 940, purified water, glycerine, sodium hydroxide and EDTA sodium.
